User Guide

The FDF Companion App is a free, browser-based digital companion for Fast Drive Football — DICE Version (FDF), the tabletop football game. It runs entirely in your browser — no account, no downloads, no internet connection required after the initial page load.

What it does

• Tracks scores and game clock so you never lose count of ticks or quarters
• Records every drive with field position, result, time, and an auto-generated play-by-play summary
• Tracks player stats in Enhanced Mode — passing TDs, rushing TDs, receiving TDs, field goals, turnovers, and more
• Calculates win probability in real time
• Generates shareable game cards you can download as PNG images (WIP)
• Exports game reports as Excel spreadsheets or printable PDFs
• Replays entire seasons with schedules, instant result simulations, standings, and playoffs
• Computes season stats and awards — MVP, OPOY, Defense Team of the Year, Players of the Week, and a season recap

What it doesn't do

The app is a companion, not a replacement for the physical game. You still roll your own dice, consult the FDF charts and tables, and make all the decisions. The app records what happened — it doesn't play the game for you. (The one exception is the Instant Result simulator for season mode, which uses the FDF rules to generate plausible final scores.)

Where your data lives

Everything is stored in your browser's localStorage. There is no server, no cloud sync, and no login. Your teams, games, and seasons persist across browser sessions on the same device. You can export a full JSON backup at any time (see Data Management).We highly suggest that you are doing this often because of updates and bug fixes.
